
Monty A. Klein, TQ, RRO
Partner, Senior Consultant
Monty joined Wells Consulting in May of 2002 and become a Partner
in the firm in late 2004. Monty is accredited by RCABC as an Accepted
Roofing Inspector and by RCI as a Registered Roof Observer (RRO).
Monty brings over 25 years of practical roofing, waterproofing and
project management experience to the firm. Monty works from the Wells
Consulting office in Delta (Ladner) BC.
Monty began his career in roofing as an apprentice and worked
initially with Seymour Roofing, and then joined the major roofing firm
of Coast Hudson Ltd., in July 1978. Monty worked at Coast Hudson for
the next 25 years, the last 10 years as a Partner of this
well-established firm.
Monty has gained experience as a trade qualified (TQ) journeyman
roofer, estimator and superintendent. He has real world experience
with most of the roofing products and systems available in today's
marketplace. Wells Consulting's stated objectives of service,
integrity, knowledge, experience and communication are be well served
by Monty's skills.
The list of challenging and prestigious projects that bear Monty's
stamp include: 401 W Georgia, Holy Rosary Cathedral (Slate and Zinc),
General Motors Place, School of Theology UBC, Belkin Art Gallery UBC,
Celgar Pulp Mill, Castlegar, Howe Sound Pulp and Paper, YVR (new
control tower), Carnegie Center, Harbor Center (top of revolving
restaurant), Bentall Tower II, Pan Pacific Hotel, United Grain and
Alberta Wheat Pool grain elevators; Coast Guard Tower at 100 Park
Royal and many others. Since joining Wells Consulting, Monty has
provided project management and design services on several major
projects including 910 Mainland Street (Crystal Decisions Building)
for Laurelton Investments, and 650 West Georgia and 777 West Broadway
for GWL Realty Advisors and presently The Law Courts at Robson Square,
Vancouver and Electronic Arts in Burnaby, BC. Monty is involved in a
number of major Green Roofing projects and is an active committee
member of the Centre for the Advancement of Green Roof Technology
(CART).
Over the years Monty has received training in the procedures and
application of all the major roofing material suppliers. Other course
include estimating and blueprint reading, fall protection, propane
safety, hazard and risk assessments, and crew leader seminars. Monty
helps train apprentice roofers at the Roofing Institute, and recently
sat on the Safety Committee, which worked with WCB in addressing
specific roofing issues.
