Doug Wells
Associate, Roofing Inspector
Doug joined Wells Klein Consulting in March of 2007 as a Roofing Inspector and Consultant and brings over 15 years of practical roofing experience to the firm. Doug achieved his RCABC accepted roof inspector accreditation in April of 2007. Doug works from his home office and reports to the Wells Klein Consulting office in Delta (Ladner) BC.
Doug began his career in roofing as a summer employee while attending high school and worked for four years in various field positions with Aurora Roofing Ltd., G & G Roofing and Burrard Roofing. Subsequent to graduating from Port Moody Senior Secondary, Doug joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served his country for four years, three of which were overseas in Germany in the Artillery Air Defense role.
Upon his honorable discharge from the Armed Forces, Doug returned to Canada and the West Coast and joined Siplast Canada, a major manufacturer and supplier roofing membrane materials as warehouse manager and inside sales. After 4 years at Siplast, Doug then joined Lexcan Supply as a Technical Representative for single ply TPO and EPDM roofing materials. His responsibilities included on the roof crew training, roof planning and design, quality control and inspections. Doug then rejoined Siplast for 2 years in sales and marketing before working at Convoy Supply for three years. Doug was recruited in early 2004 by Flynn Canada Ltd,. a large National Roofing Contractor as Single Ply Superintendent. Doug spent the next three years with Flynn, most recently as Production Coordinator, dealing with project management, details, RCABC liaison, architectural contact and human resources. Wells Klein Consulting Group’s stated objectives of service, integrity, knowledge, experience and communication will be well served by the skills Doug brings with him.
Doug has been involved with many large and challenging roofing projects over the past number of years. He has extensive experience with single ply TPO and EPDM and modified bitumen materials.
Over the years Doug has received training in the procedures and application of many major roofing material suppliers. Other courses include estimating and blueprint reading, fall protection, propane safety, Work Safe BC courses, hazard and risk assessments, RCABC Metal Roofing etc.
